CAHUITA AND PUERTO VARGAS NATIONAL PARK - This full day tour begins in the town of Cahuita. From there, you'll walk along a four-mile trail to Puerto Vargas, just beyond
Cahuita Point. Along the way, you'll want to stop for a swim, a picnic, or to look for wildlife among the trees.
The park was formed to protect one of the last living reefs in Costa Rica, so you'll also want to try your hand at snorkeling in the warm waters. Several species of coral and fish
have been counted in the area. The tour includes transportation, snorkeling equipment, a guide and lunch.
GANDOCA-MANZANILLO WILDLIFE REFUGE - This wild hike into the 22,000-acre Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is an excellent opportunity to search for local wildlife like
howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, and other animals.
The huge trees in this tropical rainforest are covered with mosses, lichens, and bromeliads with beautiful orchids and other epiphytic plants cascading from the branches. This
half day tour includes a tour guide, rubber boots, and transportation.
